Data Manager allows you to search through your database and locate likely household matches and easily link those records together.
Start Matching Households: To start, simply select Match Households from the Data Manger main menu and click Go.
The system will then automatically search your database for any records with the same address and return a list of likely matches to you in the next screen.
Please note: For very large databases, this process can take several seconds. Please do not interrupt the search.
Link the Records: The system will return a list of records that appear to be at the same address. You can then either link the two records together instantly, or you can launch a new window by simply clicking on the record to investigate whether this is a true household match.
When all the records to be links are checked, click Join Households.
Where it shows up: In the example above, Rimp Stagle and John Sebastian were linked into same households.
Once complete, you can view this in the Constituent Manager, Personal tab.
Since the relationship is unknown, the system assumes a generic “lives with” relationship. To modify this to “spouse”, simply type the first name (exactly as it appears) in the Spouse field. The name will then disappear from the “lives with” field and appear in the “spouse” field.

Link the Records:
The system will return a list of records that appear to be at the same address and present you with a list of all records with the same address, that are not already linked. Like this:
Simply confirm the records that should be linked by household and click 'Join Households'. This will link each of the respective records.
